The Icelandic Competition Authority has approved the merger of Nordic Visitor and Iceland Travel. This was reported in a statement and in the media. The regulatory body concluded that the merger would not result in a dominant market position or a significant distortion of competition, and therefore there was no cause for intervention.
As reported in June, the private equity fund Umbreyting slhf., managed by Alfa Framtak, will finance the acquisition by Nordic Visitor.
Arctica Finance acted as advisor to Nordic Visitor on the acquisition, and Íslandsbanki acted as advisor to Icelandair.
